PBGH Maternal Health & Birth Equity Summit
Join PBGH on September 18 in Denver, Colorado, or virtually via Zoom, for our Maternal Health and Birth Equity Summit.
The United States has the highest rate of maternal mortality among wealthy nations, and women of color are more likely than white women to die from complications of childbirth. Moreover, access to maternity care is decreasing across the country, as maternity care deserts (regions with limited or no maternity care) become increasingly common.
To truly confront the maternal health crisis in the U.S., public and private sectors need to be engaged and aligned. This multi-stakeholder summit will bring together employers, public purchasers, providers, plans, patients, and government agencies to discuss strategies to address maternal morbidity and mortality, eliminate disparities and improve birth outcomes.
Building upon quality standards and metrics outlined in PBGH’s Comprehensive Maternity Care Common Purchasing Agreement, this event will provide clear steps that all attendees can take (both individually and collectively) to positively impact the future state of U.S. maternal health and birth equity.
