Two New Directors Elected to the PBGH Board
The Purchaser Business Group on Health (PBGH), a nonprofit coalition committed to reducing health care costs while improving care quality and equity, welcomes two veteran health care executives to its Board of Directors.
New PBGH board members are:
- Don Moulds, Ph.D., chief health director with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). Moulds serves 1.5 million public sector employees and retirees with an annual budget of $10 billion. He oversees policy, research, plan contracting and administration, rate development, member and employer account management and CalPERS long-term care program. Don will bring important insights about the needs and priorities of public purchasers.
- Michael Costello, benefits director with NextEra Energy. In his role, Costello is responsible for PBMs, direct contracting, Workers Compensation and claims/data analytics. His expertise will help PBGH members save or redirect plan dollars and he will work more closely with PBGH on the use of data analytics for group purchasing.
Both new directors bring a wealth of practical knowledge and innovative problem-solving to managing health care benefits for large organizations. Their experience will help PBGH continue to serve its ever-growing membership of the nation’s largest private employers and public purchasers, which are collectively responsible for providing high-value health coverage to more than 21 million Americans and their families.
The new appointees join a board that includes representatives of Walmart, Apple, eBay and Boeing.
