Susan Au, CPA, MBA joins PBGH on January 27, 2020 as Chief Financial Officer. Susan brings over 16 years of non-profit finance leadership to the role along with substantial private sector and public accounting experience.
Susan is an active California CPA and also holds a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification.
Susan joins PBGH from the Public Library of Science (PLOS) where she served as Director of Finance and Accounting. At PLOS, Susan expanded the organization’s earned revenue through pricing and products, automated and streamlined accounting functions, and partnered closely with program colleagues and external stakeholders on expanding the impact and financial wellbeing of PLOS.
Prior to PLOS, Susan was Director of Finance at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, where she led the finance and accounting function and worked closely with grantees and program colleagues on funding strategy, structure, proposals, and reporting. Susan’s previous work experience includes finance roles with Sun Microsystems and Deloitte & Touche.
Susan holds a B.S. in Accounting (Summa Cum Laude) from San Francisco State University and a M.B.A. in finance from Santa Clara University. She serves on the Board of Phoenix Bioinformatics.
