Amanda Wardell
Amanda Wardell has more than 20 years of experience helping organizations find and elevate their voice to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As Vice President of Communications and Marketing at PBGH, she leads the organization’s communications, marketing, and positioning strategy, partnering closely with the CEO and executive team to translate complex purchaser priorities into clear, credible narratives that engage members and policymakers, and strengthen PBGH’s influence across the health care system.
Amanda brings deep experience across health care, insurance, and nonprofit organizations. She joined PBGH from Blue Shield of California, where she led external and internal visibility and reputation strategy for the nonprofit health plan’s Healthcare Quality and Affordability division. Working alongside the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, she shaped executive thought leadership and employee engagement, drove earned and owned media strategy, and partnered with government affairs to amplify policy positions—while navigating sensitive issues including network disruptions and organizational change.
Previously, Amanda led consumer content strategy at CSAA Insurance Group, building education campaigns that made complex topics such as coverage, risk, and policy change accessible and actionable for everyday audiences. She spent more than six years at Kaiser Permanente focused on digital health and innovation, securing national media coverage in Fast Company, Fortune, Time, Bloomberg, and The Wall Street Journal, and helping shape the organization’s presence at industry convenings including South by Southwest, HIMSS, and Health 2.0. Earlier in her career, she built a strong foundation in brand marketing at Interface, a global leader in sustainable manufacturing, where she directed integrated campaigns and market‑specific communications across North America.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from LaGrange College.
