As PBGH’s Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer, Marybeth Sharpe directs strategy development and execution, creates external partnerships and leads the launch of new PBGH programs, products and ventures. This includes designing and implementing PBGH solutions that support employers and public health care purchasers in evaluating, selecting and maximizing the performance of health care and well-being innovators.
She previously served as PBGH’s Chief Operating Officer and Strategy Director for 6 years, during which time Marybeth oversaw all operational and business functions, stewarded the financial health of the organization and led talent management.
Prior to PBGH, Marybeth directed a $270 million regional health care effort at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, aimed at strengthening the health care workforce and improving patient care. She partnered directly with hospitals, medical groups and payers to design and implement quality improvement, workforce and transitional care programs. Marybeth led the foundation’s efforts to use data and information technology to improve health outcomes using predictive analytics, remote monitoring and patient-reported outcomes. Marybeth managed the regional health care team with responsibility for communications, outcome measurement and talent.
Marybeth is a former McKinsey & Company Associate Principal, where she focused on strategy, M&A and operations for media, finance and public sector organizations. She started her career as an economics researcher and data scientist.
Marybeth holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
