Membership

PBGH members represent a wide range of industries and public sector employers. They are actively engaged in shaping the health care marketplace as one of the country's most influential business coalitions. Together they represent approximately 3,000,000 employees, retirees and their families and nearly $10 billion in annual health care expenditures. They are dedicated to finding pioneering and progressive solutions to the health care issues facing purchasers today.

PBGH gives its members the opportunity to meet with and learn from their peers on a regular basis to share concerns and solutions to a variety of emerging and challenging benefits management and human resources issues. This hands-on involvement also includes participation in committees with representatives from health plans and the provider community to collaborate on marketplace solutions and for a frank and open exchange of ideas and points of view.

Silicon Valley Employers Forum

A member of PBGH, the SVEF is comprised of leading edge technology companies dedicated to improving quality in health care and employee benefits through the use of innovative technologies. The Silicon Valley Employers Forum covers approximately 500,000 lives and spends $800 million on health care each year. SVEF members include the following:

Negotiating Alliance

One of PBGH's principle activities is the Negotiating Alliance. A mutual benefit corporation, the Negotiating Alliance promotes value based purchasing through an annual Request for Proposal (RFP) and a rate negotiating process on behalf of approximately 400,000 active and retired employees. It leverages the purchasing power of 15 large employers to achieve competitive pricing and health plan accountability for quality and data.
